Sharon Stone Dumps Children's AIDS Benefit Because Doll Doesn't Look Like Her

Sharon Stone left a children's AIDS charity reeling after throwing a tantrum over a Barbie doll. The Basic Instinct actress agreed to be honored at a benefit in Santa Monica on Saturday night for the Children Affected by AIDS Foundation. At the event Stone had initially agreed for a number of Barbie dolls made in her image to be auctioned off.

According to the New York Post newspaper, the 48-year-old blond actress "flipped out" when she saw the Barbie toy manufacturers Mattel had made, raging that it looked nothing like her. Stone refused to attend the benefit, and instead went to the star-studded Carousel of Hope ball.

Stone's representative, Cindi Berger, said, "That is absolutely correct. The doll didn't look anything like her. She was never committed to going."

This ws on my MSN page, (I get AIDS updates and news). Just thought I'de share. I think it's pointless. Who cares if it doesn't look like you, as long as its helping people who need help

Totally don't need generalisations.

That was a disgusting, dispicable act that one celeb did.

And i'd question further.. what's the point in complaining, we can't change that.. we should just direct our energies and passions and what we CAN do

Oh seriously, what right does she have? Like butterfly said - how can they honestly look like you anyway?!!
And she was being honored! Thats just really unfair behaviour! But yeah, true comment sophster, we are able to do something, make a difference, but its still terrible to see some of the mindsets that were up against.

as soph said (and as heaps of people have said - myself included), theres not point getting angry and frustarted and spending time and energy on these kinds of things coz we have no control over her behaviour.
so we may as well take it in our stride and use it as motivation to get the message out there even more!!!
look at it as another person we can win over if we put our time and energy into things that we CAN change and things we CAN control.
it is shocking and  awful and disgusting to see celebrities (or anyone for that matter) behaving like that. but in the end, not every single person in the world is passionate about the same tings as us so try not to generalise.

stay positive guys.
coz for every person that doesnt care, thats one more person that we - as the passionate, motivated people that we are - can show why there needs to be a change in the world.
jordy :)

Geez, ud think shed be honhoured simply to have a barbie doll made to look like her - and if it didnt look that much the same, who cares!!! It probably looked a hell of a lot better then she does in real life! Thats sooooo sefl-centred and selfish - i cant believe some people think that way. Did they still sell the barbie dolls and raise some money for the poor AIDS peeps or did that stop it? if it did, im incredibley ticked off at her - if she could have gotten over that fact, then she may have saved some lives!!!! Jeez, people can be sooooooo selfish sometimes!
