VGen’s 2008 Campaign

Don’t Trade Lives is World Vision’s bold new campaign that will be raising awareness about the vital issue of Human Trafficking and Slavery in today’s world. Vision Generation are driving hard to get young Australians on board.

Contrary to popular belief, the Slave Trade didn’t end centuries ago… in fact; there are more adults and children being trafficked across the world into slave-like conditions today than ever before.

Victims of trafficking end up in horrendous situations. Many are caught up in a life of bonded labor, forced to work as virtual slaves to pay off a family debt. They may work on farms, in mines and factories, or as domestic workers in private homes. Countless women and children are trafficked into the commercial sex industry to work as prostitutes and satisfy the growing demands of local and international sex tourists.

At VGen, we believe the existence of modern day slavery is not right.

We will be lobbying our government and corporations throughout the year to create change. Find out how you can play your part.

Start learning about the issues behind what has become the third largest criminal industry in the world (behind the illegal trade of arms and drugs).
