WA

Hi, my name is Courtney Robertson and I’m the State Director of Vision Generation (VGen) in Western Australia (WA); and we thought that we would introduce you to our state, so Welcome!

So what is VGen?

It’s World Vision’s national youth movement which aims to inspire, educate and empower young people in the fight against global poverty and injustice.

How do we achieve this mission?

Through what we call Vision Groups (VGroups) which are teams of young campaigners led by a VGen leader that drives World Vision’s campaigns within their community. This could be through school, university, tafe, church group, suburb or friendship group.

The idea behind these groups is to think globally about issues such as child labour, trafficking and slavery and acting locally by building your leadership skills, encouraging discussion on these issues and promoting service and teamwork amongst young people.

So how can you get involved?

Facebook ButtonYou can join an existing VGroup, become a VGroup leader and start your own VGroup OR help out the State team in mentoring and resourcing already existing VGroups.

To start though, you can:

I look forward to working with you in 2009 in the fight against global poverty and injustice! See you in the front line!
