How U Can Stir

If you think that the water issue is important, here are some ways that you can stir.

Lobby the Rain Makers

Ask the "Rain Makers" responsible for Australia’s aid budget to boost the help we give to the poorest people in the world, including building water infrastructure. It's not all right that 6,000 children are dying every day due to a lack of safe drinking water and proper sanitation. Ask your local member of Parliament to represent you in Canberra. Voice your opinion and get your friends to do the same.

One way to make a direct impact is by donating money to an accredited International Aid Organisation conducting water and sanitation related aid and development activities. World Vision's water initiative is called Water. Health. Life. Providing the community with practical, long-term solutions to establish safe water supplies and proper sanitation in poor communities. For $39 a month you could help a whole community fight off water related dieseases and dehydration.

Use Our Water Wisely

Australia is in a drought at the moment and while our circumstances are not nearly as bad as those in the third world, spare a thought to those that go without and turn off the tap. Don’t waste our precious water, when we are so blessed to have it.
