Hello chums. I know I haven't been on here in about six months, but when I need help with this sort of this, I think of the Stirrers, for better or worse. :P So here I am!

I've recently got involved with this body image project at my school. I won't explain it all now, because it has quite a substantial projected vision, but what I will explain is that at this point, it would be really helpful to get support, both financial and otherwise, from organisations and retailers like Boost Juice, The Body Shop, Sportsgirl and the like. If anybody works at any of these joints and thinks they could wangle me ANY support at all, please drop me a line on here and I'll find some way to contact you.

Also, we're aiming to get publicity for this and really get our message out there, so if anybody has done any writing, or is involved with any magazines or newspapers, newsletters -seriously, ANYTHING will be appreciated- please let me know, and I can see about maybe sending you something to include in your next publication.

Ta heaps guys! :)

Ah, this is why you have asked me if I am directly involved with lip! Find a way to contact me, pleaseeee!

Also, I would suggest contacting Lorna Jane - because they're big on this kind of thing.

I would love to hear more about the project on here, if you have time to throw a few things up?!

In fact, sorry for the double posting, but I was going to begin working on another pieces about women's health with a project happening with the Logan Womens Health and Wellbeing Centre up here, and perhaps I could combine them and make a mega article. Do you think your project could be linked to something like this, or not really? Don't be afraid to say no, I'd hate to make you feel like you'd have to say yes because I suggested it!

Well, the bits that I'm in charge of with the project are putting together presentations to be performed at primary schools around Melbourne, and also writing articles about body image and the way the media presents us with an idealised image of people, just for example, ideally to be published somewhere. The issue is finding someone willing to publish my articles :P

Siobhan, I think that your double-article idea is really good, because I definitely think that our project has a lot to do with women's health, both mental and physical, but the problem is that I'm in Melbourne and you're in Queensland. :S

If that still works for you, I'm really happy to throw some stuff up on here that the group has been working on and learning about, but if a Melbourne thing isn't relevant then don't worry.

Bellydancer I think that's fantastic!

And I actually think that perhaps it would work best with this happening in Melbourne and the other part up here in Logan, Queensland because then I can make more of a national approach to the article. Thanks for sharing this! How about you start posting just a few things that you may like to have in the article to begin with, and from there I'll let you know what I need? Do you have like a program overview type thing?

Hope the rest of the stirrers don't mind if we do this - but I think it's going to be really good!

Aaahhhh that's fantastic Siobhan!

I'll have to have a chat to the woman who's in charge of the program, just to make sure that she's okay with it, but that will be early next week so I'll be able to get back to you on that really soon.
I'll have to get hold of all the information and stuff I have stashed away that I'm supposed to be working on (holiday slacking... :P) but once I've sorted that out and got something coherent to put it I'll chuck it up here and you can see if it's the sort of thing you need.

Thanks heaps for doing this!

Okay, I checked with the woman running the program and it's all good. She's going to write up some stuff for me to send to you to be included in the article, so if you need anything specific let me know.

It would also be heaps easier if I could get your email to talk to  you, but I don't know if Stranger Danger will censor my email address.

Hopefully that went through :P
